Use clean IPv4 addresses on your network without buying them.

With a BRENAC lease, you rent a block of IPv4 addresses for the period you choose. We prepare the registry paperwork, check the block's reputation and give you the authorization to announce it. You pay a monthly fee, we keep ownership and you keep your capital. [Get a Lease Quote]

What IPv4 leasing means

When you lease a block, you do not become its owner. The block stays registered to its holder, and you receive the right to use and announce it on your own network for the lease period. When the lease ends, the block returns to its holder and you stop announcing it.

If you plan to use the addresses for more than a few years, buying can cost less overall. We will compare both options for you at no charge. See Buy IPv4 Addresses.

Who leases from us

  • Hosting and cloud providers that need more addresses for new customers, without tying up capital.
  • ISPs and telecom operators that are growing faster than their allocation.
  • Companies launching a project or a new region that need addresses quickly and only for a defined time.
  • Organizations in a migration to IPv6 that need extra IPv4 while both protocols run side by side.

How a lease works, step by step

  1. You tell us what you need: block size, region, lease length and the autonomous system number (ASN) you will announce from.
  2. We propose a block and check it: we audit it for blacklists, routing history and registry records before you commit. See [IP Cleaning & Blacklist Removal].
  3. You sign the lease agreement: it includes the acceptable use policy and every term listed below.
  4. You make the first payment: [to confirm: first month, deposit or both].
  5. We issue your authorization: you receive the Letter of Authorization and the registry records described below.
  6. You announce the block: your network provider accepts the authorization and your ASN starts announcing the addresses.
  7. The lease runs: you receive an invoice each period and can contact us at any time. At the end you renew, change the block or stop announcing it.

Rules of use

Leased addresses must be used lawfully and responsibly. Our acceptable use policy forbids spam, scanning, attacks, hosting of illegal content and any use that damages the reputation of the block.

  • Abuse reports: if a report reaches us, we tell you and give you [to confirm: number of hours or days] to fix the problem.
  • Serious or repeated abuse: we can suspend the authorization and end the lease. [to confirm: refund terms]
  • At the end of the lease: you stop announcing the block and we withdraw the registry records. You return the addresses clean, with no content or services still attached to them.

Own an IPv4 block you do not use?

You can lease it out through BRENAC and earn a monthly income while you keep ownership. We find and screen the lessee, prepare the contract and the authorization, manage the registry records and monitor the block's reputation. [to confirm: how the fee is calculated and when the owner is paid]

If you would rather sell it, see [Sell IPv4 Subnets].

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own ASN? Yes, to announce the block yourself. If you do not have one, tell us. [to confirm: whether BRENAC can announce the block for the lessee]

Can I use the addresses with a cloud or hosting provider? Yes, if the provider accepts bring-your-own-IP announcements and the authorization letter. We can supply what they ask for.

Are the addresses clean? We check every block against blacklists, routing history and geolocation before delivery. We cannot control what happens to a block after delivery, which is why the acceptable use policy exists.

Can I change the block size during the lease? Yes. You can add blocks or replace one with another, subject to availability. [to confirm]

What happens if I stop paying? [to confirm: payment grace period and suspension process.]

Can I buy the block I am leasing? [to confirm: whether lease payments count toward a purchase.] We can always quote a purchase price for the same block.

Which registries do you work with? RIPE NCC, ARIN, APNIC, AFRINIC and LACNIC. Availability by region is shown in the terms table above.
