Turn unused IPv4 space into value, with a broker who tells you exactly how and when you will be paid.

BRENAC is an independent IPv4 broker. We value your block, find qualified buyers, handle the contract and the registry transfer, and make sure the funds are secured before anything moves. Your identity stays confidential. [Request a Valuation]

Why sell through BRENAC

  • Independent and neutral: we work for the seller in your deal, and we do not buy blocks for our own account.
  • Paid with protection: the buyer's funds can be held by Escrow.com and released to you when the registry confirms the transfer. See [Secure Escrow & Wire Options].
  • Confidential sales: buyers see your block, not your company, until a serious offer is on the table.
  • A block that sells for more: we check blacklists and registry records first, because a clean, documented block earns a better price. See [IP Cleaning & Blacklist Removal].
  • Registry know-how: we manage transfers within and between RIPE NCC, ARIN, APNIC, AFRINIC and LACNIC. Registered facilitator status and activity since 2016

How selling works, step by step

  1. Valuation request: you send us the block, its registry and any known history. We confirm that it can be sold and give you a price range.
  2. Ownership and reputation checks: we verify that you are the registered holder and audit the block for blacklists and routing history, fixing what can be fixed before listing.
  3. Buyer search: we present the block to qualified buyers and screen each of them. You approve the buyer before anything is signed.
  4. Contract: we negotiate price and terms and prepare the sale agreement for both parties.
  5. Payment secured: the buyer pays into escrow, or by wire as agreed, and you are told when the funds are secured.
  6. Registry transfer: both parties submit the transfer request. We prepare your documents and follow the registry's review of the seller and the block.
  7. Payment to you: once the registry has updated its records, the funds are released to you.

The total time depends mainly on the registry. [to confirm: typical range, e.g. 2 to 4 weeks from signed contract]

What can slow a sale down

  • Ownership documents: missing or outdated records take time to correct. Check that the registered holder and contact details are current.
  • Blocks still in use: a block announced on the internet must be released before transfer, and the buyer will want it empty.
  • Registry rules: some registries ask for a minimum holding period or an agreement from the new holder, and legacy space can need extra documents. We check this at step 1.
  • Blacklist listings: a listed block can lower the price or delay the sale.

Price and fees

Your price depends on the block size, region, history and current demand. We give you a range based on recent market data at step 1. See our [IPv4 Market Prices & Forecasts] for trends.

BRENAC's fee is a percentage, paid by the seller or the buyer. It is written in your agreement before you commit, and it is due only when the sale completes.

We do not guarantee a price or a date, because both depend on buyers and registries. We guarantee a clear process and no surprise at payment time.

Frequently asked questions

Who pays your fee? Whatever the arrangement, it is stated in writing before you sign.

When do I get paid? After the registry confirms the transfer. With escrow, the buyer's money is already secured before you submit the transfer.

Will the buyer know who I am? Not until you accept an offer. The registry records the change of holder at the end, so the transfer itself is not anonymous.

Can I sell only part of my block? Often yes, down to a /24, if the registry allows the split. We check the options and the effect on your price.

Do I owe tax on the sale? This depends on your country and your company. We are not tax advisers, so speak to your accountant before signing.

Can I sell a legacy block? Yes, in most cases. We check the registry's conditions and prepare the documents.
